HISTORY
1909
Unfortunately, there is no exact information about when the carnival began in Alosen. However, according to oral tradition, organized carnival celebrations were already taking place in 1909.
1914
First photos of the carnival play in Alosen. Instead of oranges, nuts and chestnuts were thrown out.
1914-1918
Restricted activities during the First World War.
1918-1939
After the war, small parades and simple stage plays developed. However, these were not in rhyme form, but were more like listing or singing.

1939-1945
World War II interrupted the emerging carnival activities to a minimum.
1946
The carnival is gaining momentum again. During the break, CHF 205.20 remained in the cash register. The cashier was Iten Jakob Josef "sNeislere Jakobseb". This was the starting capital for the next few years. The income in 1946 was CHF 662.30, the expenditure CHF 660.20, and the net profit was CHF 2.10! Nussbaumer Karl "Sager Kari" is the first president known in writing. Willi Iten "Glöri Willi", later co-founder of the Wylägerer carnival society, served as director. Minutes have also been available since this year. In addition to sausage and bread, oranges were already "usgrüert" back then.
1947
First known written financial statement. Income was CHF 1125.60, expenditure CHF 780.20. The stage play was heavily criticized. It was said to be nothing more than a "fake". Those responsible, of course, vehemently denied this.
1948
The chemistry within the Legoren Council is not particularly good. Actuary Meier Xaver "Birchli Xaveri", in any case, "strikes" at the meetings, so that a different board member takes on this task each time!
1949
Schönmann Karl «Gyregg Kari» is elected as the new president. The Besmer family, landlords of the Schmidte restaurant, are responsible for making coffee after the game and for the accounting.
1950
Each player must pay an annual fee of Fr. 2.-!
For the first time, the entire stage play is presented in rhyme form, which generated a lot of laughter and applause. It has continued to this day and has become the trademark of our carnival.
1951
Since the Güdelmändig fell on Agatha Day (5 February), the parade had to be moved forward to Carnival Sunday by order of the authorities.
Another problem:
Quote from the minutes of the General Assembly of 27 January 1951:
"But he also hopes (according to the president) that half the Legors don't show up drunk at lunchtime. He also hopes that everyone behaves decently after the game and doesn't throw bread around like last year!"

1952
First tape recordingsRadio Häusler recorded the first stage plays on tape. The quality is of course not comparable to today's, but it does give a good insight into the stage plays of that time. It is striking that almost no names are mentioned. One can only guess who they might have been.
1954
After heated discussions and accusations after the parade and stage play, the entire Legoren Council resigned at the AGM! The mood was bad. Some people thought the money was needed before "others found nothing in it". Müller Hans "Haseloh Hänsel" was even considering emigrating to America if there was no more carnival in Alosen!

1955
At an extraordinary general meeting on January 15th, the Legoren Council can be persuaded to continue again.
1958
It is decided to give each player a sausage and bread after the parade.
1961
On the initiative of Nussbaumer Anton "Giselmatt-Toni", the Junglegoren built a float on their own for the first time. This arrangement has proven successful to this day. Almost all of the later float builders and officials earned their first spurs by building a Junglegoren float. The accompanying stage play report was also read out by a Junglegoren for the first time. "Giselmatt Toni junior" mastered this honorable task with flying colors.
1962
All of the floats in the parade were built on Rapid single-axle vehicles. The cloth around the stage in front of the Schmidte, which looked different every year and was built by different people, had to be borrowed from the Unterägeri carnival society! At the AGM, however, it was immediately decided to buy such a cloth ourselves!
1966
It was decided to have a uniform made for the Legoren Council. Mrs. Meier-Feusi in the lower village was given the task. These “Tschöpe” have lasted to this day!
1968
For the first time, honorary members are appointed. They are: Iten Jakob Josef «s`Neislere Jakob Seb» and Emil Besmer, «s`Chaspers Miggel.»
This year, the Rämsli wagon group also took part in the Alösler carnival parade for the first time.
1969
At the request of Franz Jos. Iten «s`Neislere Fränzel», the company built its own stage so that the annual search for people to set it up would no longer be necessary.
1970
For the first time, two ladies of honor will accompany the President in his official duties. This high honor goes to Priska Meier «s`Schluen Peters Priska» and Marlis Iten «s`Neislere Marlis«.

1974
After 25 years as Legoren father, Karl Schönmann is stepping down as president. The new president is Josef Iten bei der Schmidte, better known as "Gyregg-Seppel" or later also as "Giger."
1975
Legoria Helvetica is the name of the first Guggenmusik band to take part in the parade. Not everyone receives it with the same enthusiasm!
1982
The company buys four Tyrolean costumes, which have been in constant use ever since!
1984
Josef Iten resigns from his position after 10 years and becomes honorary president. Hans Meier, Obermatt, becomes the new president.

1986
Extraordinary cold. On the Güdelmändig morning, temperatures in the Schluenloch reached minus 24 degrees. In the afternoon, the wine on the stage even froze after a short time!
1988
In order to meet the high demand for serviced seating, a Legorenstübli will be set up on the garage forecourt at the Nussbaumer construction company (Sage-Käris).

1991
The Fasnacht can rent the dishes hut at the Chalchofen.
1993
As there is again a lack of space, the terrace of the Schmidte restaurant is also being closed off. Several passers-by then ask the municipality whether this will remain the case and whether a building permit has been issued. Written by honorary members Herbert Iten "Münggel" and Bäni Rogenmoser "Schwand Bäni".
1994
85 years of Alösler Fasnacht.
1999
Herbert Schönmann, Moos “de Schwander” is the new president. He will hold this office with great passion and commitment until the 2010 AGM.
2003
The Alöse Fasnacht was officially opened for the first time with the unveiling of the motto, Tyrolean and Guggen music.
2008
The centenary brunch takes place in the corporation's workshop. This is the perfect way to get in the mood for the 100-year anniversary.
2009
The Alosen carnival society is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The anniversary carnival in Büel was opened with a fun afternoon with all the float groups under the motto “Games and fun in Büel”.
At Güdelmändig, in addition to a large aperitif with the honorary members, the former ladies of honor and the friendly carnival societies, the big anniversary parade took place in horrific winter weather. Even the private broadcaster TeleTell sent a reporter to the Alosen to do a report.
2010
After the 100th carnival was held one last time from Oberalosen via the main street to the Alosen exit and back to the stage at the Rest. Schmidte, a completely new concept had to be put in place due to the change of use of the Rest. Schmidte.
There is now a small carnival village in Oberalosen with the festival restaurants Garage Meier and Hans Nussbaumer Elementbau as well as the Roledibar on the Alosä-Plätzli. The participants will now be fed in the Adolf Nussbaumer window factory. The new parade route leads from Oberalosen via the main street to Gyregg and back. The official carnival square is between the two festival restaurants. The stage play will now be played from the stage in front of the Nussbaumer Elementbau office.
After the successful implementation of the new concept, under the leadership of Herbert Schönmann, he will hand over the presidency to his successor Marco Meier at the AGM after 21 years on the board, including 11 years as president.
2020
The 111th Alösler carnival is being celebrated as a special number. For the opening on January 11th from 11:01 a.m. a kind of ski festival was held on the carnival grounds.
2021
According to the Federal Office of Public Health's guidelines, carnival cannot be held as usual throughout Switzerland due to the corona virus. A maximum of 5 people are allowed to meet. There will be no parade, no parades and no festivals in Alosen. The Legoren Council distributed parcels and oranges from house to house. In the evening, it reads a stage play - Füürhorn - on its own radio station, which could be received in the greater Alosen area.
2022
As a result of the ongoing corona virus, festive activities in the area of carnival can only be carried out to a limited extent and under strict regulations. The board developed a concept for a carnival with a parade in compliance with the applicable regulations. The parade would have been planned on the closed cantonal road from Neislerä Rank to Gyregg. The stage play and some of the catering would also have taken place in Gyregg. Verbal approval from the authorities was available. Thanks to the federal government's decision just under 2 weeks before Carnival, a completely normal carnival could be held without any restrictions.
After 20 years on the board, including 12 years as president, Marco Meier will hand over his presidency to his successor Roman Meier (Schluen) at the 2022 AGM.
